Love ‘n lies
Literary student Trip shares his New York flat with his lesbian friend Bridget, who’s no stranger to one-night stands. In their regular hangout, a pub called The Four-Faced Liar, they meet the small town couple of Molly and Greg. Friendship blossoms between Trip and Greg, as it does between Bridget and Molly. Soon the women start holding study sessions on Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, which become more and more intimate as time goes on.
These friendships are put to the test when Trip splits up with his girlfriend Chloe, and Bridget and Molly’s relationship comes to light. This generation of the young and the beautiful has to figure out what it means to have to change for love.
Written by Marja-Lewis Ryan (who also plays Bridget), this film balances somewhere between a romantic comedy and an Indie drama. Its best features are intelligent humor, believable relationships between the characters and softly beautiful filming.
