This 19th Vinokino offers an extensive collection of GLBTI films and documentaries, short film compilations for both women and men, and experimental Finnish video art. Vinokino wishes to support Finnish artists and showcase small budget productions. For those in the mood for a comedy, BearCity looks at the everyday life of Bear men in New York. The coming-of-age story of Spork deals with intersexuality through the means of comedy, where Shank, on the other hand, tells a different tale of personal growth, one interspersed with violence. Finnish film is represented by the short films of Markku Heikkinen.
This year has brought with it many new volunteers and new responsibilities for the old ones. Hopefully we can once again offer you a fantastic festival with a balanced program. Next year it’s the big 20 for Vinokino!
